A charity established in 2011 with a primary focus on the prevention of poverty and support to individuals in challenging situations. Our charity is based in a low income housing estate in Manchester. Our community hub is a drop in center for the community providing basic essentials including food, clothing and furniture. Middleton community trust has been managed by a small group of unpaid volunteers, dedicated to supporting the community, since 2011.
Our volunteers are made up of 7 local people with ages ranging from 18-80 years old. They are all from our community and have either used our services or have volunteered through our web contact form. Their duties consist of helping sort and distribute food parcels to our service users. Sort, wash, and distribute clothing parcels to our service users. They help out Monday through Friday with the day to day running of the community hub, collecting donated food, handing out sleeping bags to homeless and a plethora of other selfless tasks. . We are fortunate to be supported by a number of Blockchain companies who donate cryptocurrency to our cause which we use to purchase food and sleeping bags.
Our organisation has fed and clothed over 15000 people, with the support of our doners, we continue to provide basic essentials for those in need here in our very own towns and cities. We are also proud to say that we provided the community with advice and a signposting service for benefit advice, housing advice, fuel povery advice. We provide food bank facilities with the support of Tesco fareshare program, and the Lidl neighbourly program. We also provide new and old clothing collection and donation service that we can then pass on to our service users.
